Electrochemical treatment of dye wastewater using nickel foam electrode

Removal of dye from wastewater has been investigated using the electrocoagulation method. Batch experiment conducted to remove color synthetically prepared acid red 87dye wastewater. Stainless steel and nickel foam sheets are used as cathode anode, respectively. The effect some operating parameters, such current density, initial concentration supporting electrolyte concentration, on removal studied. It can be observed present investigations that electrode effectively removes Nickel hydroxyl species formed during operation also, (II) hydroxide flocs in a subsequent stage, trap colloidal precipitates make solid-liquid separation easier flotation stage. These stages must optimized design an economically feasible process.
